Don’t wait until it’s too late : Creating M,emories

I overheard a conversation the other day about about a woman and her cancer experience. She discussed how her cancer is very rare and she don't know if it would be cured or not. She ended the conversation saying "Now it's time to just create memories". Don't get me wrong I felt for her but I was curious on why it took a diagnosis for her to feel like it was time to do that.

Early on in life, I realized that I had a limited amount of time on earth and I was going to take full advantage of it. I never wanted to look back and regret not doing things because I was scared or too busy. As I go throughout life , I like to be intentional about creating those memories!

You may ask, " How do I do that A'lexus?"

Here's how.....

Start with GRATITUDE: Something that I like to do is write down three things that I am grateful for daily. This could be something good that happen, your health, or simply shelter. This encourages me to focus on the positive verses the negative. It always feels good to reflect on the things that makes a huge difference in our lives.

Try JOURNALING: Honestly, I don't know where I would be without my journals. They're like story sections in my life that I plan to put all together one day as a book. Journaling not only give me a way to express my feelings but a way to record those special memories.

Make TIME: Life is busy and if we're not careful it will pass us right by. We have to be intentional about making time for creating memories. This includes traveling and spending quality time with family and friends. It's perfectly okay with taking a break every once in a while.

Be PRESENT: When we focus on the moment, it allows us to recognize our feelings, thoughts and emotions in real time. This helps us with our focus on what's going on around us. Ultimately, encouraging us to remember more of the smaller details.

Creating memories is essential for our mental health. Let's not wait until it's too late!
